Abstract

A brief historical essay of remote sensing studies by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine based on the aerospace surveys of the Earth is presented. The scientific and organizational role of B.E.Paton as the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are highlighted.
